You can get a great deal on
a student air ticket if you know where to look. I
remember when I was at University that many of the
students just wanted to take a year off and go
travelling around the World. I was really looking
forward to doing this but unfortunately one by one the
other students dropped out. From the 13 who was really
interested it only ended up with me as the sole
traveller. I made a decision that I did not need anyone
to go with me so I decided to go it alone. As it turned
out it was the best decision I could ever make. The first port of call was to go to the University
library and have a look at the many travel guides and
maps that were available. I made up my list of places I
have always wanted to visit and made my way down to the
travel agents to get some more advice and to get those
important prices. They were very helpful but I could not
believe the high cost of student air tickets. I was
quoted a price that included a small discount because I
showed my identification of my student pass.
By this time it became apparent that I could not afford
the student air ticket prices they were quoting and decided
to forget the whole trip, I just could not afford it. I
was talking to a tutor and he said that there are
specialist travel agents that are subsidized by the
government and so they would be in a better position to
provide me with that much needed student air ticket
discount.
He was right, as it turned out I made a massive saving
of 20% on my round the World trip just because I went to
specialist travel agents that welcome students. Just
ensure that you take all your ID information with you
otherwise they will flatly refuse you. So for student
air tickets you know what to do. Stay away from all
the common travel shops and hunt down the cheap student
travel shops in your area. Just ask at your University
or College and they will gladly give you a list.
