The key to finding cheap flights to Chicago is to be as
flexible as possible with your travel itinery. You may
also have to prepare yourself for a little inconvenience
as this is often the areas where cheaper flight tickets
can be located. Having a mindset where you want to fly
on a specific day at a certain time is not going to
assist your search for cheaper airfare, you have to be
as flexible as possible.I made many mistakes in my early days as a frequent
flyer and looking back I could have saved myself a lot
of money. But now it is payback time and I will no
longer succumb to the prices I am offered for flight
until I have done my research. It is all to do with
preparation so I will let you know exactly what I do so
you will have the best chance of getting cheaper flight
tickets to Chicago also. Chicago's Ohare Airport is
extremely busy with all the World's major airlines using
it so this is all good news for people like us who are
searching for cheaper flight seats.
My first trip to Chicago was on business so I was
given a budget from my Company to get the return flight.
Generally when you are spending someone else's money you
are not too bothered about the price just as long as it
wasn't astronomical. But I always take the booking of
flight tickets as a challenge, a little game to play
with the airlines or the flight shops. I could have just
bought the standard price for the Chicago flight but
that's just not my style. I really could not fly in
total comfort if I though that person sat next to me had
paid less.
The problem was I had to arrive in mid-morning
because I had a meeting in the afternoon so this was an
immediate problem. This is a convenient time to arrive
so I knew that many people would prefer this flight time
as well. Not to be outdone I contacted all the major
airlines first to see what they had to offer. All I was
getting quoted was the standard price for the flight to
Chicago, Ohare with definitely no discount. So at least
I now know what the standard price was so this was the
target that had to be beaten. I then moved onto the
specialist flight shops. Don't bother looking on the
high street for these. Although they are called shops or
even bucket shops in some cases, they do their business
out of offices to lower their overheads. I located these
online and through the Yellow Pages.
Now I was getting cheap flights to Chicago because
these are specialists flight agencies that have the
power in the marketplace to move a lot of flight tickets
at short notice. This was prefect, I had just saved
around 15% just by using these shops. But I also tried
the charter flights to Chicago. There was one flight
that arrived early in the morning which was prefer and
it was cheaper than the scheduled flights. In all I
saved 20% on the original fare. So if you want cheap
flights to Chicago first try the airlines, then the
flight shops and the charter airlines.
