Thailand has a varied climate and this does effect when
you should try and find cheap flight tickets to Bangkok.
The peak season is when the climate is at it's most
pleasant and this is between November and February. But
that does not mean you cannot get cheaper airfare to
Thailand even in peak season, it just means that your
chances are reduced. Much will depend on the current
tourist industry at the time.
I noticed the difference in flight tickets to Bangkok
when I first travelled there in 1995. My flight was
early February so I was at the back end of the peak
season. This was my first trip around the World and when
I arrived back 1-year later I loved Thailand that much I
decided to return again. By this time it was March and
out of the peak season so the flights were less than the
price I had paid 1-year earlier. The weather was also
not too hot as the hottest months are April and May.
With June until October offering the monsoon season
and very heavy rains and floods it may have a negative
effect on your vacation. My advice would be to fly
outside the peak and monsoon periods. Yes the monsoon
periods would be the cheapest time to fly but do you
really want to get a soaking day after day? Yes I do
want to get a cheap flight ticket to Bangkok but I
really do not want it to effect the vacation and spoil
the journey.
As Bangkok is a long haul flight for most passengers
it does mean that you can take a two-flight journey if
you wanted to. In the past I have flown via Amsterdam,
Frankfurt, Gothenburg, Dubai, Kuala Lumpur and even
Paris. This is how flexible you can buy. As you can see
by this list that when I was looking for cheap flight
tickets to Bangkok I was completely flexible. I really
don't mind making a little diversion just to make a
connecting flight as long as I get the right deal. I can
put up with a little inconvenience here and there as
long as the airfare to Thailand was cheap.
You will have to be careful when you book connecting
flights and there will be some flight shops that may not
tell you this until you get your tickets through the
post or pick them up at the airport. So you need to be
sure that the flight is either direct or if you have to
make a stop over. Don't take it for granted that the
flight to Bangkok is going to be a smooth transition. I
have been quoted many flights to Thailand in the past
that included a stop-over but when I asked about the
connecting flight I had to wait in the terminal for
8-hours which is hardly ideal.
I can while away 2-3 hours at a connecting airport no
problem but 8-hours? So you need to ensure that when you
are searching for cheap flight tickets to Bangkok to get
all the flight details down. Don't make the mistake to
find out that you long-haul flight to Thailand with no
stop overs has turned out to be a long delay in a
connecting airport.
