Cheap Flight Ticket

One of the factors that to take into account is the actual duration between the outbound and return flights when trying to buy cheap flight tickets. No airline is going to reveal the exact algorithms into their price structure. If they did then this will result in flights being overbooked one day and empty the next. Though there are steps that cunning passengers can do to get the price of their ticket down to a level where you know you are getting a pretty good deal.

I have done many hours of research into how the airline price their flights and one of these is definitely the length of period between your outbound and return flight days. You may have already encountered this already if you wanted to try and book a weekend away only to find that the price of the cheap flight ticket are very high because you are coming home after only a few days and the return happens to fall on a Sunday. If you can be flexible with the return journey and fly back on a Tuesday instead of a Sunday then the cost of the ticket in most cases will be much lower.

The old excuse was that they had to do the stopover to simply refuel. With the modern aircraft this is not the case. They can fly 12-hour + long haul without any stopovers with plenty of fuel left over.

Airlines have little invisible periods that you cannot see. If you return within 30-days (1-month) the cost of the air ticket will more often be less. If you go over the 30-day period and the cost of the ticket will be higher. Some airlines even set this period up on a 21-day maximum limit to enable you to get the flight discount. Go over this 21-days and the prices rise.

The only way you can ensure you are getting the best price is to do some shopping around online before you commit yourself. With each airline having their own rules regarding discounted cheap flight ticket duration you should be able to get the discounts without any problem providing you do the research and are flexible with the airline you travel with and your duration between outbound and return flights.
