One of the most effective
ways to get discounted cheap air flight tickets is to be a little flexible
with your travel arrangements. Most people seem to set a
specific date for travel for their outward and return
flights just by looking at the calendar or by mental
flight booking syndrome?
Sometimes your brain will
tell you what the ideal dates to fly will be. If you
want to plan for one or two weeks away you may look at
flights starting on the 1st of the month, 7th, 14th,
21st and 28th. If you are booking for 10-days away its
the 1st again, 10th, 20th, 30th. These are just mental
figures that come into your head and you will look at
flights around these dates. It’s strange but completely
true.
If you are one of the
guilty ones with mental flight booking syndrome then
unfortunately you have already lost lots of money on
your flight tickets. Try not to torture yourself over
the travel savings you have lost in the past.
Make a note to break out of this syndrome and
next time be ‘flexible’. Flexibility will save you
a lot of money and ensures you get some cheap air flight
tickets, guaranteed! This
may not be a cure for your mental dates though if you
think of just one word ‘flexibility’ then you can still
make the savings. Next time you want to book specific
dates for your outbound and return flight travel check
on the ticket prices 2-3 days either side of the date
you want to book.
So if you want to fly out
on the 7th and return in one week on the 14th have a
look at the prices for 4th-5th-6th and then 8th-9th-10th
for your outbound and 11th-12th-13th and 15th-16th and
17th for the return. I think you will find that
somewhere amongst those dates there is a cheap air
flight ticket than the dates you originally chose. If
you can be flexible with your dates when booking cheap
air flight tickets then you will make some great airfare
savings. Just a few days either side can make a huge
difference to the cost of your flight ticket.
